We are delighted that you have chosen to be a mentor to another Volusia County elected official. Mentors agree to attend the welcome event in January/February if possible.

Mentoring is a relationship that is focused on the growth and development of an individual. Mentoring encompasses broad forms of support including professional, career, and emotional support. Our goal is for the relationship to be personal and reciprocal for both the mentor and mentee. Honest, regular communication between mentor and mentee allows for trust-filled conversations.

I understand that the Volusia League of Cities is responsible for the partnering of a mentor/mentee and I will be contacted by VLOC once my assignment is made. Mentor/Mentee assignments are confidential and it is up to you to determine if you want to share the relationship. I understand that I can choose not to accept the assignment. I understand that it will be my responsibility to make contact with my mentee to begin the program and maintain communication via email, phone or in person visits at least once per quarter during the 2024 calendar year.

Mentoring encompasses broad forms of support including professional, career, and emotional support. Our goal is for the relationship to be personal, and reciprocal for both the mentor and mentee.
